As many of you have read in a recent post, I am in love with TtV photography.  I was able to go out and shoot for the first time last week and I wanted to share some of the photos with you.  Let me know what you think!

Wabi-Sabi Wednesday

What in the world is Wabi-Sabi, you say?  It originated in Japan in the 16th century when the term 'wabi' referred to poverty and 'sabi' to loneliness.  I have decided to use Wednesdays to share decorating ideas so here is a little more about Wabi-Sabi style.

"Wabi-sabi is the beauty of things impermanent and incomplete. It contains a poignant ache and a profound appreciation for things modest and humble.
As an esthetic, it honors things imperfect and unconventional. Wabi-sabi is a term hard to define and beautiful to live. There is an inside and outside to Wabi-sabi. The outside is the beauty we see, feel, hear, touch and taste in things fleeting, seasonal, natural and imperfect. A piece of silvery barn wood, a river rock that time and running water has smoothed, a simple meal with a good friend." - Quote from Quinn McDonald of Quinn Creative

"Characteristics of the wabi-sabi aesthetic include asymmetry, asperity, simplicity, modesty, intimacy, and the suggestion of natural processes.
Wabi now connotes rustic simplicity, freshness or quietness, and can be applied to both natural and human-made objects, or understated elegance. It can also refer to quirks and anomalies arising from the process of construction, which add uniqueness and elegance to the object. Sabi is beauty or serenity that comes with age, when the life of the object and its impermanence are evidenced in its patina and wear, or in any visible repairs." - Quote from Wikipedia

Photobooth Friday

Here is another site I found and liked how she made her own photobooth in the house. I plan on doing something similar at the wedding in May that I am photographing. Any good ideas how to make it work on a grand scale?  Have a great weekend!!!

Time off

I am thinking about what crafts I want to do over the holiday.  Here are some ideas...

knit honeycomb cashmere scarf (I need to find a pattern for this! Too cute!)

I am thinking 4 days is not long enough to complete all of these projects. Anyone want to do one for me and ship it to me?  Thanks! You are the best! :o) Have fun on your days off and be safe!

Tuesday ponderings

I wish I blogged more.  I follow so many AMAZING bloggers and I feel that I should have at least some small share in that.  I even went so far as to write a list of themes for each day of the week to keep me inspired to write.  I have yet to see if I can follow through with the theme each day.  Next week will be the big test.  I also realized that I will probably need to use others pictures at times to show the things I love because I don't always have the opportunity to take pictures of them, like the Eiffel Tower.  I welcome any comments and suggestions as I try to make this blog more rounded and regular and thanks for all the inspiration!  Happy Tuesday everyone!
